Sacred Heart of Jesus Church (Fontana)

The Sacred Heart of Jesus Church is the Catholic parish church of Fontana on the Maltese island of Gozo.

History

The foundation stone for the church was laid on 29 January 1893. On January 29, 1905 was ordained by Bishop Giovanni Maria Camilleri to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. On March 27, 1911 Camilleri Fontana rose to their own parish.

The altar is in a work by Giuseppe Cali the Sacred Heart of Jesus. On June 18, 1993 the altar was placed a golden crown in the presence of Bishop Nicholas J. Cauchi.
