Sadko ( Садко ) is the name of a hero of the eponymous story of a Russian Sage ( byline ).

This is an adventurer, merchant and Gusli players from Novgorod. The figure is based on a documented by chroniclers of the same merchant from the 12th century.

The varied told tale is about how Sadko comes to wealth through the Sea King and later gets him on the seabed into the clutches of what he was able to free himself with the help of Saint Nicholas.

Adaptations

  • Nikolai Andreyevich Rimsky-Korsakov wrote an opera of the same in seven acts that on January 7, 1898 Moscow Solodownikow Theatre premiered.
  • 1952 learned the substance is a film by Alexander Ptuschko who ran Beckoning lucky in the GDR under the title.
  • A Russian television version was created in 1994 under the direction of Brian Large's.
