Safety Network International e.V.

Safety Network International eV is a registered with the District Court of Esslingen association based in Ostfildern.

Formation

Safety Network International eV was founded by eight founding companies: ASK Systems GmbH, Dürr AG, Daimler AG, EMG Automation GmbH, Festo AG & Co. KG, SICK AG, Pilz GmbH & Co. KG and Volkswagen AG. This happened in 1999 eV under the name SafetyBUS p Club International. In 2006 the club changed its name to Safety Network International eV. Since then, nearly 70 companies and institutions a member of the Safety Network International eV (as of 2013).

In addition to the headquarters in Germany still exist following regional organizations of the Safety Network International eV

  • Safety Network Japan - founded in 2000
  • Safety Network International USA - founded in 2001

Objectives

The purpose of the association is to promote the use and dissemination of safety-related bus system SafetyBUS p and the industrial communication system SafetyNET p. Next, the association has the purpose to promote the integration of safety-related bus system SafetyBUS p and the industrial communication system SafetyNET p in existing and future automation technologies. Members of the association are working together in the Security Work Group, in the infrastructure committee and the implementation committee. There standards are discussed together perspectives, defined and formulated recommendations. Safety Network International eV since 2007 "Liaison D " member within the IEC and is involved in the standardization work. The association published under the name "Connected" own magazine to security and automation.
