Saint Bernard, Southern Leyte
Saint Bernard is a town in the Philippine province of Southern Leyte.
History
On 17 February 2006 a huge landslide buried a large part of the community. Especially the barangays Guinsaugon and Sugangon were severely affected. The Philippine government estimates officially that 1,126 people have lost their homes in the disaster. Blame for the disaster were torrential rains and deforestation, as well as a small earthquake.
