Saint-Doulchard

Saint- Doulchard is a commune with 9199 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Cher in the Centre region. It belongs administratively to the arrondissement and canton of Bourges Saint- Doulchard, whose main town ( chef -lieu ) it is. The inhabitants call themselves Dolchardiens.

Geography

The municipality is located in the metropolitan area northwest of Bourges. Neighboring municipalities are:

  • Saint- Éloy -de- Gy in the north,
  • Vasselay in the Northeast,
  • Bourges in the east and south,
  • La Chapelle -Saint- Ursin in the Southwest, and
  • Berry - Bouy in the West.

Transport links

From the city of Bourges leads out to the north, the department of road D2076, which turns in the municipal area to the northwest direction Vierzon, while the D944 continues to the north. On the western boundary of the municipality, the D400 runs as western bypass road from Bourges. The railway line of Réseau Ferré de France to Bourges is located on the southern border.

History

According to a mention of the village from the year 1065 this was then called " Sanctus Dulcardus ". In Saint- Doulchard the Order of Annuntiatinnen was founded.
