Saint-Georges-de-Reneins

Saint -Georges -de- Reneins is a commune with 4265 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011 ) in the Rhône department in the Rhône -Alpes; it belongs to the district of Villefranche -sur -Saône to Belleville Canton. The inhabitants are called Reneimois.

History

• Prehistoric remains in the district " Boitray "
• The Gué de Grelonges was an important crossing over the Saone
• The place was called in Gallo- Roman times " Ludna "
• The English king Edward I drew on February 18, 1273 through the village.
