Saint-Jean-Trolimon

Saint -Jean- Trolimon ( Breton Sant Yann Drolimon ) is a municipality in western France in the department of Finistère (No. 29) in the region of Brittany. Near Penmarc'h live in an area of 14.68 km ² 1003 inhabitants ( 1 January 2011).

History

About the origin of the name, there are sometimes contradictory information. The most likely - also spread by the community itself - version after the name comes from the Breton: Treff ( "Village " ) and Saint Rumon lines of ' village of St. Rumon ". In the Middle Ages was under the hamlet of the parish of today Plomeur. The parish and the town was founded during the French Revolution after 1789.

Attractions

Just outside the resort in Tronoën ( bret. Tronoan ) is a church, in front of the oldest Calvaire Brittany. Only a few kilometers away you will find the Country Pointe de la Torche with the wasserumtosten Dolmen ( bret. Beg to Dorchenn ) - and rocks, a very popular surfing area.
