Saint-Pierre-Quiberon

Saint- Pierre -Quiberon ( in Breton: Sant -per- Kiberen ) is a commune in the Morbihan department in Brittany region. It is located in the arrondissement of Lorient and Quiberon in Canton.

Location

The community on the Atlantic Ocean is 8.54 square kilometers and is located to most parts of the municipality on the extending south peninsula of Quiberon on the Brittany coast to a maximum of 26 m above sea level (municipality part Kergroix ). The municipality is crossed by that of Plouharnel coming secondary road 768.

Community structure

Saint -Pierre- Quiberon in its 17 villages 2123 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011). So the municipality consists of the villages Penthièvre, Portivy, Kerhostin, Runaron, Le Roch, Keraude, Le Praner, Kergroix, Kermahé, Kerdavid (the center of the municipality ), Keridenvel, Kerbourgnec, Kervihan, Kerboulevin and Le Rohu (formed from Petit Rohu and Grand Rohu ). In part, it is coastal resorts with beaches and fishing villages around. The original name of the community was at Saint- Pierre; " Quiberon " was added in 1856. Quiberon itself, located in the south of the peninsula, is a separate municipality.
