Salcia (Prahova)

Salcia is a town in Prahova county in the Wallachia region of Romania.

Geographical location

Salcia ( to German willow) is located in the southern foothills of the Bucegi Mountains ( Bucegi Munţii ) in the historical region Muntenia in the east of the circle Prahova. At the same Bach - a right tributary of the Cricovul Sarat - and the county road (drum Judetean ) DJ located 234, the place is located about 35 kilometers north of the small town Urlaţi; the county seat Ploieşti is situated about 58 km (35 km as the crow ) southwest of Salcia away.

History

The place was first mentioned in documents in 1577.

Salcia has large, not yet used salt deposits. This would be suitable as rheumatism treatment facility, as near a small river flowing from the two pools were created for the villagers in 2005.
