Salisbury steak

A hamburger steak, or Hackbeefsteak Deutsches Beefsteak ( beefsteak haché ) is in the preparation of the patty, similar in appearance to the steak meat dish.

For the preparation is first produced a mass of ground beef according to the recipe with soaked bread, bread crumbs or flour -water mixture, possibly egg, finely chopped or grated onion and spices. It is formed into round or oval, flat serving pieces that are fried in a pan or on the grill. During the Hackbeefsteak and the German beefsteak usually only ground beef is made of beef, the hamburger steak sometimes also minced meat is mixed with pork or beef mince used by the lamb.

According to the guidelines of the German food aid do not have beef patties, which are available in retail and catering, contain at least 80 % meat.

In several countries in the Balkans beef patties are a widespread dish, where there are numerous preparation variants, eg with eingebackenem feta cheese as in Serbia, called Punjena pljeskavica. In Greece they are called Bifteki (derived from beef steak), the former Yugoslavia pljeskavica or Pleskavica ( Cyrillic Пљескавица or Плескавица, literally as " flat- Ling ").
