Salqin, Arabic سلقين, DMG Salqin; is a small town in Idlib province in northwest Syria.

The town is located on the eastern side of the Orontes valley on the north- south rise extending ridge of Jebel Dueili ( Duwayli ), which forms the western edge of the northern Syrian limestone massif. From Jisr ash- Schugur a side road about Darkush runs just 50 kilometers in the valley north to Salqin. The area is inhabited mainly by Kurds. The road continues north to one of the remotest areas of the cultural region of Kurd Dagh: There are about 6 kilometers to the much smaller place Harim, where the road winds up to the Djebel il -Ala and after about 20 kilometers from Salqin the Druze place Qalb Loze reached on the karstified height of over 700 meters.

Salqin is located at about 380 meters above sea level and is still benefiting from good transport links to the market town of Jisr ash- Schugur and agriculture, which is possible in the fertile valley floor. Here flourish pomegranates, figs and olives.

For 2009 36.938 inhabitants were calculated. Salqin has a bustling town with busy, winding streets around the old Friday Mosque and a covered souq. At the edges, especially towards the north, the site is growing rapidly through multi-level, fast -built residential block.
