Salt Lake City Council Hall

The Salt Lake City Council Hall in Salt Lake City, which was built from 1864 to 1866, was from January 1866 to 1894 the seat of the city administration and the legislature of the Utah Territory. Architect of the 1864 built building was William Harrison Folsom. She was frequently the scene of clashes between Mormons, citizens of other denominations and federal troops such as the United States Marshals Service. After the move, the authorities in the Salt Lake City and County Building until 1915, it served as a police headquarters and lost their other uses gradually in importance. On 14 May 1971, the Salt Lake City Council Hall was listed on the National Register of Historic Places and has been awarded on 15 May 1975 as a National Historic Landmark.
