Salvador Santana

Salvador Santana ( * 1983 in San Francisco) is an American musician and singer, son of the famous guitarist Carlos Santana and his wife Deborah.

Salvador Santana, who is currently studying at an art school in San Francisco was already playing guitar as a boy and has experimented with it; he soon, however, has reoriented on piano and keyboards, and has remained to this day. At school he met some musicians who influenced his further development and with whom he formed a band, which soon as the Salvador Santana band was named. The musicians included, among others, Emerson Cardenas ( bass), Carla Holbrook (vocals), Matt Heulitt (guitar), Tony Austin (drums) and José Espinoza (saxophone). Stylistically, it is reminiscent of the Latin rock of the Father, but there are strong elements of rap and hip-hop not to be missed.

In addition to these influences but is also a strong penchant for jazz noticeable. On his first demo CD, which can only be ordered online on his website, there are some compositions of the famous drummer Billy Cobham.

A success, the band recorded in April and May 2006, when they on the European tour of Carlos Santana accompanied this and as opening band- occurred in all 24 concerts.
