Sam Roberts

Sam Roberts ( born October 2, 1974 in Pointe -Claire, Quebec ) is a Canadian rock singer-songwriter. He won several Juno Awards and MuchMusic Video Awards.

Career

Roberts was born südafrikanischstämmiger parents. He attended Loyola High School and later the McGill University. In his youth, Roberts took violin lessons, and he later learned to play guitar. In 1993, his first band, William, which, inter alia George Donoso, the current drummer of The Dears played, was born. After the Canadian music channel MuchMusic brought a short article about William, the band members moved to Los Angeles to promote their success. In 1996, the Group Northstar was renamed before they broke up in 1998, have aroused the interest without a label. Immediately after the resolution of Northstar Roberts moved back to Montreal and took the solo debut album Brother Down at home studio. On 2 August 2002, the native of Toronto Maple Music Recordings music label released the six- piece EP The Inhuman Condition.

In 2003, the album We Were Born in a Flame followed, this time in the major label Universal Music. The album reached # 2 on the Canadian album chart, the corresponding single Where Have All the Good People Gone? Number 29 in the singles charts. The next album, Chemical City was released in Canada on 11 April 2006, in the United States it appeared on May 16. Currently playing in the Sam Roberts Band guitarist Dave Nugent, bassist James Hall, the drummer and keyboardist Josh exchanger and guitarist Eric Fares.

On 1 January 2008 he entered the second intermission at the NHL Winter Classic, the first outdoor game in the NHL on U.S. soil on.
