Samariscus corallinus

The comb - flounder ( Samaridae (Latin: samara = seeds of elm) ) are a family of flatfish. They live in tropical and subtropical regions of the Indo-Pacific region, especially in the deep sea.

Features

There are more small fish reach lengths from 4.5 to 22 centimeters. The beginning of their dorsal fin is located in front of the eyes. The pelvic fins are symmetrical. The lateral line can be well developed but also reduced. Similarly, in the closely related American sole as ( Achiridae ), the sole ( Soleidae ) and the dog tongues ( Cynoglossidae ) is missing a Postcleithra ( a bone in the shoulder girdle ).
