Sammy Traoré

Sammy Traoré ( born February 25, 1976 in Créteil ) is a Malian footballer who also holds French citizenship.

Career

Association

Traoré began his career with U.S. Créteil. With the team in 1999 he was vice-champion of Division 3 and played until the end of August 2002 for the club in Ligue 2 After he had played five season games for Creteil, he was brought from OGC Nice in the Ligue 1. There, the central defender was a regular player quickly. In summer 2006, he stood with his club in the finals of the Coupe de la Ligue, but Nancy prevailed 2-1. For the 2006/07 season Traoré moved to league rivals Paris SG.

National

Since 2002, Traoré plays in the national team of Mali. For the selection, he took part in the African Nations Cup 2004.
