Sampson Avard

Sampson Avard (* October 23, 1800 in St. Peter, Guernsey, UK United Kingdom, † April 15, 1869 in Edwardsville, Illinois) was the leader of the Danites. He joined in 1835 by baptism of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and founded in 1837 along with David Patten, the Danites.
