Samuel Frederick Gray

Samuel Frederick Gray ( born December 10, 1766 London, † April 2, 1828 in Chelsea ( London) ) was a British botanist, zoologist and pharmacologist. Its official botanical author abbreviation is " Gray".

Gray was from 1797 to 1800 worked as a pharmacologist in Walsall. He later moved to London to teach there botany. He wrote, among other extensive works on shells and drugs.

He was the father of two great scientists: John Edward Gray (1800-1875) and George Robert Gray ( 1808-1872 ).
