Samuel Guo Chuanzhen

Samuel Guo Chuanzhen OFM, Chinese郭 传真, Pinyin Guo Chuanzhen, ( born April 14, 1918 in Jinan, † November 6, 2012 ibid ) was auxiliary bishop in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Jinan.

Life

Samuel Guo Chuanzhen occurred in 1931, the seminary and studied literature, philosophy and theology. On December 8, 1944 he was ordained priest. From 1945 he studied church history at the Catholic Furen University in Beijing, but had to finish his studies in 1949 with the founding of the People 's Republic of China and return to his diocese. He was a pastor in Zhengjuesijie and teachers at the local minor seminary. With the nationwide ban on religion, he worked from 1963 in the food industry. During the Cultural Revolution, he was interned in a labor camp and asked for 16 years under house arrest.

Until 1982 he was allowed a work in pastoral care and as a priest again. He was the 1983 founder and rector of the seminary in the province of Shandong.

On April 24, 1988, he was first appointed without a papal mandate auxiliary bishop in the Archdiocese of Jinan, with recognition by the Chinese Catholic Patriotic Association, but the beginning. Still without Apostolic recognition of the Roman Curia This was done but later.

Guo suffered in the late 1990 years, several strokes and lived in the parish of the former Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Jinan.
