Samuel Jackson Barnett
Samuel Jackson Barnett ( born December 14, 1873 in Woodson County, † 22 May 1956 Pasadena ( California)) was an American physicist.
Barnett received 1894 BS in Physics from the University of Denver and a PhD in 1898 at Cornell University. He taught in the subsequent period 1898-1918 at numerous universities. From 1918 to 1926 Barnett at the Carnegie Institution for Science, and since 1926 professor at the University of California. He is the discoverer of the eponymous Barnett effect.
