Samuel Johnson Prize

The Samuel Johnson Prize is an annual award since 1999 Prize for English written in English nonfiction. He is named after the Shakespearean most quoted English author and leading intellectuals of the 18th century, Samuel Johnson, named.

History

In 1999, when the Nonfiction Book Award NCR has been set, BBC Four decided to create a sequel, from 2009 to 2012 the competition of BBC 2 was carried out. The performance units total fluctuated, but was last £ 20,000 for the winner.
