Samuel Moreno Rojas

Samuel Gustavo Moreno Rojas ( born February 11, 1960 in Miami) is a Colombian politician and lawyer. Between 2008 and 2011 he was mayor of Bogotá.

Life

Moreno's parents are former Congressman Samuel Moreno Díaz and former presidential candidate María Eugenia Rojas. His grandfather, General Gustavo Rojas Pinilla was President of Colombia after the coup on 13 June 1953. His brother Iván was Mayor of Bucaramanga, minister and senator. Moreno is married to Cristina González and has two sons, Mateo and Samuel.

Moreno studied law and economics at the University of Rosario. Harvard, he finished with a Master 's degree in Public Administration.

Political career

From 1982, Moreno was in the Anapo, which was founded by his grandfather and run at this time by his mother party, active. Between 1982 and 1985 he was a youth coordinator of the party and between 1985 and 1987 coordinator of the district of Bogotá. From 1987 to 2003 he was national coordinator of the Anapo.
