Samuel Peter Schilling

Samuel Peter Schilling ( born April 10, 1773 in Juliusburg, † December 15, 1852 in Breslau) was a German entomologist.

Life

After education at the Gymnasium in Hirschberg he studied theology in Halle until 1795, then philology. 1795 to 1797 he was a teacher at the pension institution to Boleslawiec. In 1798 he taught at the venerable Mary Magdalene Gymnasium in Breslau natural history. In 1843 he was retired.

During his time teacher, he published magazines and books that served the general education of children and young people. From 1801 to 1806, the early work Emil, or instructive conversations for the youth appeared, illustrated with engravings.
