San Caprasio

The Roman Catholic Church in San Caprasio Santa Cruz de la Serós, a municipality in the Spanish province of Huesca of the Autonomous Community of Aragon, was built in the 11th century. The parish church is a listed building since 2004 ( Bien de Interès Cultural ).

History

The church was probably part of a Benedictine monastery and was probably built around 1060. The accompanying convent was dissolved in the 12th century, the church became a parish church and got in the same century a bell tower.

Description

The interior consists of a nave and a lower apse, which has three round-arched windows. The church is built in the typical Lombard- Catalan style of the region. The facade is divided by pilasters and arches Lombardy. The square tower has on all sides coupled sound arcades.
