San Juan Capistrano, named after John Capistrano, is a city in Orange County in the U.S. state of California, United States, with 35,000 inhabitants ( 2004). The geographic coordinates are 33.50 ° North, 117.65 ° West. The metropolitan area has a size of 37.1 km ².

History

On December 18, 1812, an earthquake of unknown strength of the village and adjacent regions. They counted 40 dead.
