San Juanico Strait

The San Juanico Bridge, previously known as the Marcos Bridge, spans the San Juanico Strait, a waterway that separates the islands of Samar and Leyte Philippine each other.

The bridge is part of the Pan - Philippine road that extends from northern Luzon on Manila, Legazpi City, Tacloban City down to Davao City and Zamboanga City to the southwest of Mindanao.

Characteristics

The San Juanico bridge was designed by engineer Arvin Valderrama with the help of Christian Meynard Baral and is now considered one of the longest bridges in South East Asia. Here, it has the reputation of being the most beautiful bridge in the Philippines. It has a total length of 2.16 km, the largest spanned width is 1.377 m. Construction
