San Miguel Bay

The San Miguel Bay (Spanish Bahía de San Miguel ) is a part of the Philippine Sea, on the northeast coast of the Bicol Peninsula in the Philippines. The bay covers an area of 1,115 km ² and has a coastline of 188 km. In the south of the bay of the Bicol River empties into the Bay, it is the largest freshwater inflow into the bay.

The Camarines Norte province lies to the west and Camarines Sur is located in the south and east of the bay. Are numerous sandy beaches and mangrove forests along the coast line. Ninety-five percent of the seabed in the Bay are covered by sandy and muddy bottoms. Approximately five percent are covered by coral reefs, these are mostly in the north- west and north- east of the bay and is lined along seagrass and algae beds of the coast line of the islands on the exit to the Philippine Sea.
