San Nicola di Trullas

The Romanesque church of San Nicolò di Trullas is located north of the road from Semestene after Pozzomaggiore in the province of Sassari in Sardinia.

The cubic structure of Camaldolenser was completed in 1114 and probably dates from the same builder as Santa Maria del Regno in Ardara. The single building with the high apse has a vaulted ceiling and triple pilasters on the inside.

The archaic exterior has deep arched windows with abgetrepptem jambs and a stilted round arch over the wide architrave. The artistic quality and originality of the little church confirmed the blend portico in the upper part of the facade. The Portallunette and the pillars of the arcades are not separate elements but roughly from the masonry out kicking, massive pilasters. This motif occurs at the Tuscan- Lombard churches only in the second half of the 12th century. In the decoration of the architrave of the south-facing windows, a single Arab item appears.
