Sandra Smisek, nicknamed Smi ( born July 3, 1977 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a former German football player. The offensive player played in the period from 1995 to 2008 in the German national team.

Career

Smisek began her career at FC Kalbach in the north of Frankfurt. There they played to the C- youth in a boys team. When she had to change into a girl's team according to the rules of the Hessian Association, she stopped playing football. As Monika Staab, then coach of the SG Praunheim (today: 1 FFC Frankfurt), tried to steer Smisek to Staabs club, Smisek fled the family home.

Only through a bet that Smisek lost to her father, she came back to football. To redeem the bet Smisek went for a trial at FSV Frankfurt.
