Sanjaagiin Bayar

Sandschaagiin Bajar (Mongolian Санжаагийн Баяр ;) ​​(* 1956) is a politician in Mongolia and was dated 23 November 2007 to October 29, 2009 Prime Minister of the country.

Life

Bajar was born in 1956 in the capital Ulan Bator. He graduated from the Moscow State University with a degree in jurisprudence. From 1979 to 1983 he served with officer rank in the Mongolian General Staff. From 1983 to 1988 he worked as a journalist for the news agencies Mont seed and Mongolpress. From 1990 to 1992 he was a member of the Little State Khural. From 1992 to 1997 he taught at the Academy of Social Sciences, studied in Washington, DC, and was director of the Institute for Strategic Studies of the Mongolian Ministry of Defense. From 1997 to 2001 he was the Director of the Office of the President, and from 2001 to 2005, he served as Ambassador of Mongolia in Moscow.

Political career

Bajar came in 1988 with the Mongolian People's Revolutionary Party ( MPRP ) and in 2005 was General Secretary of the party. At the party congress in 2007, he was elected with 377 votes to 229 against Mijeegombyn Enkhbold as chairman. The same party congress voted to propose Bajar as the next prime minister. The MPRP -dominated Parliament appointed Bajar on 22 November 2007 with 67 votes to two ( 87.1 %) to the Prime Minister.

His term as Prime Minister, he began with verbal attacks against Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj in his Inaugurialrede.
