The Sanremo railway station is the city of Sanremo in Italy, Liguria, Imperia Station.
History
Station of 1871
The old station was opened in 1871. He lay on the Piazza Cesare Battisti (43 ° 49 'N, 7 ° 46' O43.81417.7717 ). The station building has been preserved and is used commercially. The tracks have been removed and there was a 20 km long bicycle and pedestrian path between Ospedaletti in the southwest and San Lorenzo al Mare in the Northeast.
Station from 2001
The present station was rebuilt in the course of the extension of the railway line Genova- Ventimiglia elsewhere and opened in 2001.
Plant
The train station is in a tunnel. From the reception hall leads a 700 -meter long pedestrian tunnel with moving walkways to the platforms. Operationally, there is a bus stop with external platforms at the two through tracks.
The station building is located at the end of a narrow land, behind which rises a mountain slope. The building partially encloses a round of way. There is a middle zone, which is dominated by dark, lying bands of windows above a glazed ground floor. It is a zone with sculpturally shaped building masses. Through the front door, which is marked in the facade by an overlying, magnified window, you arrive in a round hall with a dome on which the ticket office and a bar are located and from where the pedestrian tunnel leading to the platforms.
Location and operation
The station building is located in the area east of the center on Corso Felice Cavallotti. It keep all scheduled trains in passenger transport. In long-distance traffic, providing direct inter alia to Nice, Genoa, Milan and Rome.
