Sant Elm

Template: Infobox district of a municipality in Spain / Maintenance / localidad Sant Elm ( Castilian San Telmo ) is a small town with an 180 meter long sandy beach on the Balearic island of Mallorca. The town consists mainly of small hotels and summer residences, permanent residents or locals will find very little.

Location

Sant Elm is located at the westernmost point of land in Mallorca. You can reach the Andratx from over the village S'arraco on winding road through the mountains.

Attractions

Before the beach of Sant Elm, the islet There Pantaleu, a little further upstream extends the island Dragonera, which became a symbol of the struggle for the Conservation of Nature in the Balearic Islands. Environmentalists subjected to before the Spanish Supreme Court of Justice, in order to prevent the construction of a residential complex on the island. The court finally accepted the thesis and Dragonera was by the Consell Insular de Mallorca, the island council acquired. Today the island is a nature park where even Sargantanes (endemic lizards ), falcons marins ( Eleonora's falcon ) and Gavines de bec Roig ( Audouin's gull ) survive.
