Sanvignes-les-Mines

Sanvignes -les -Mines is a commune with 4394 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Saône -et -Loire, in Burgundy; it belongs to the district Charolles and Canton Toulon -sur -Arroux. The city is located in the neighborhood of Montceau -les -Mines

History

In the Middle Ages Sanvignes was one of the five Châtellenies the county Charolais.

The mining industry in the area meant that a considerable number of Polish miners settled in the city.
