SAPS II
The Simplified Acute Physiology Score ( SAPS) has been developed to get into clinical trials, a measure of the physiological state of a patient. So groups of patients can be compared with regard to their general health in clinical trials to be able to, for example, detect the influence of a different disease severity in different study groups.
First, the score for a single assessment was developed at inclusion in a study.
It is also used to follow the course of disease severity during treatment. Here it is combined with the Therapeutic Intervention Scoring System ( TISS ), which measures the intensity and complexity of treatment.
Calculation
In the calculation (SAPS II ), the following values will be entered:
- Recording status
- Chronic Illnesses
- Glasgow Coma Scale
- Age of the patient
- Systolic blood pressure [ mmHg ]
- Heart rate [ 1/min]
- Body temperature [° C]
- Only with assisted ventilation: PaO2/FiO2 [ mmHg ]
- Export urine [ l/24Std. ]
- Urea in serum [mg / dl ]
- Leukocytes [ 1000/μl ]
- Serum potassium [ mmol / l]
- In serum sodium [ mmol / l]
- Bicarbonate in serum [ mmol / l]
- Bilirubin in serum [ mol / l]
From these values, a point value is created when different weighting.
