Sarakeb, also Saraqeb (Arabic سراقب, Sarāqib DMG ) is a city in Idlib province in Syria.

In 2004, the city had 32,495 inhabitants. Five kilometers south of the city lies the archaeological site of the ancient city of Ebla.

History

During the civil war in Syria, the city moved into the focus of world public opinion, as the Syrian rebels on 30 October 2012 at three military bases executed them 28 soldiers of the Assad regime in fights.
