Sarikol Range

The Sarikol chain (Russian Сарыкольский хребет; Tajik Раште Кух Сарикол ) is a mountain range in the eastern Pamir along the border between Tajikistan and the People's Republic of China.

The Sarikol chain extends over a length of 350 km with a predominantly north-south orientation. It runs parallel to the eastern Kashgar chain. In the north, the mountain range from the river of Markansu, bounded on the south by Beyik Pass. The Sarikol chain forms the watershed between Tarim, the lake Karakul and the Amu Darya. Highest mountain of the mountain range is the Pik Ljawirdyr with 6351 m. Climate and vegetation of the Sarikol chain be that of a cold highland desert.
