The Sarre is a left-side tributary of the Bode and is located in the natural space Magdeburg.

The Dremse and Geesgraben open southeast of Bergen in the pond and flows from there as Sarre around the vineyard (about 125 m) in southern direction towards Remkersleben to to swing there in east-west direction. In Remkersleben the Röthebach and Sauerbach open into the middle ditch on the right side for a Sarre. In Domersberg the Sarre swings in north-south direction around the Big Muhlenberg (approx. 124 m) to wrap around to the east. There, the Sarre swings in a southerly direction and flows past the castle Wanzleben.

The Sarre flows through the urban area of Wanzleben in north-south direction, then the B246 to cross on the southern outskirts. This course reserves the Sarre in until it encounters Bottmersdorf. There, the Sarre swings to the south-west to flow to small Germersleben. From there, take the Sarre crosses the B 180 and flows from east to west on large Germersleben to, there is crossed by the national road 76, then south to turn. It flows south of the village in the Bode.
