Särskilda Skyddsgruppen

Särskilda Skyddsgruppen (SSG ) ( Special Protection Group ), is a special unit of the Swedish military, which was founded in the early 1990s.

The tasks in addition to direct combat operations include the gathering of news, as well as the personal and property protection. In addition, the Special Forces, such as the entire Swedish army authorized to domestic use to combat terrorism.

The unit consists of about 80 men and is stationed in Karl Borg. The exact strength of man is kept secret.

The SSG participated in 2003 in the Operation Artemis in the Congo, as well as in the ISAF mission in Afghanistan, in which two soldiers were killed.
