Saskia De Coster

Saskia de Coster AJ (born 1976 in Leuven ) is a Belgian writer.

Life

De Coster began to write early, winning eleven years a national writing contest and the 1989 competition "Junior Journalist". From 1994 to 1998 she studied Germanic Languages ​​at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven in 1999 and made in Vancouver a Masters in Literature.

In 2000 her first book " Onder Elkaar " appeared. In addition, she has worked as a visual and video artist. 2002 followed her debut novel with the novel " Vrije val". De Coster has worked as a journalist for De Morgen, and writes texts for theater and bands. She is on the editorial board of the literary magazine DWB. 20 September 2008 De Standaard published a letter to the editor of the former chairman of the Boerenbond, Noël Devisch, was expressed in the criticism of a contribution from the Acting Chairman, Piet Vanthemsche, about meat production and consumption. De Coster later admitted that the letter was not written by Devisch, but from her. The article was meant as a joke and it is not assumed that the letter would actually be attributed Devisch. Devisch sued de Coster and De Standaard ended the cooperation with de Coster, who wrote a monthly column for the newspaper at that time.
