Saskia Hölbling

Saskia Hölbling ( born March 6, 1971 in Vienna) is an Austrian choreographer and dancer.

Life and work

Her first pieces were written during her studies at the Conservatory of Vienna in the years 1991 to 1995. Afterwards they sat until 1997, trained at the run by Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker dance academy PARTS in Brussels on. In 1996 she received a scholarship danceWEB and 2001 a scholarship for Atelier du Monde / Montpellier Danse 2001. Hölbling In 1995, her company DANS.KIAS. Since then it is one of the few Austrian choreographers with an independent company. Approximately 20 pieces she has created for its Vienna-based troupe.

Saskia Hölbling also created choreographies to existing contemporary music. In cooperation with the Vienna Taschenoper established in 2002, the productions of the two musical theater productions di Tancredi e Clorinda Combattimento by Claudio Monteverdi and A- Ronne Luciano Berio. In 2004, she developed a choreography with four dancers for interactive live performance labyrinth in collaboration with the composer Wolfgang Mitterer and video artist Alexei Paryla. In 2009, she worked again with the Vienna Taschenoper and directed three other works by Luciano Berio: Naturale, Visage and Sequenza V.

She also works again with artists from other disciplines together, as in 2005, when Hölbling on the Philosophy Project Stage of the philosopher Arno Böhler and actress Susanne full reading performance contributed by the sense of meaning. In 2008 she created together with the French dancer and choreographer Fabrice Ramalingom the duet fiction in between. In 2009, the first time Hölbling theater directing and brought with students at the Max Reinhardt Seminar The Hamlet Machine ( Heiner Müller) on the stage.

As a dancer Saskia Hölbling also acted in works by Bob Wilson (USA), the company W. Dorner ( Austria ), Laurent Pichaud (France ), and Benoît Lachambre (Canada) and others, and also holds workshops at the Vienna Conservatory in the " Contemporary dance "or, block seminars at the Max Reinhardt Seminar for actors.

In June 2009 Hölbling acted as a mentor and took over the coaching for young choreographers in the context of the dance Stückwerk09 Wien.

Creation and alignment

2000 Saskia Hölbling received the Prix d' Auteur du Conseil Général de Seine -Saint Denis / Bagnolet for Do your desires burn quietly, and in 2002 she was awarded the Austrian Dance Production Prize for other feature awarded.

At the opening of the dance district of Vienna in 2001, she presented her solo rrr ... ( " reading, readings, reading" ), which she had worked with choreographer Benoît Lachambre and video artist Laurent Goldring.

While she was still working in intent / frame I and II (2000 and 2001) with small covers and interpersonal behavior patterns, she realized with other feature ( 2002), the naked human body as a moving, organic mass. This continued with solo exposition corps (2003) and superposition corps ( 2004). In secret sight (2009) the spaces and lines are considered and explored between the bodies. In pictographic events (2010) finally working with a larger pool of characters and body images.
