Satoru Otomo

Satoru Ōtomo (also Satoshi Otomo ) (Japanese大 友 哲, Ōtomo Satoru; born December 19, 1957 in Mitaka ) is a Japanese dentist, amateur astronomer and asteroid explorer who works mainly from the observatory in his hometown of Kiyosato.

Ōtomo is the discoverer of currently ( Jan 2010) 149 asteroids, including 15 along with Osamu Muramatsu.

The asteroid ( 3911 ) Otomo was named after him.
