Savala is a village (Estonian küla ) in the rural community Maidla ( Maidla vald ). It is located in Ida -Viru county (East Wierland ) in northeastern Estonia.

Description and History

The place was first mentioned in records in 1241 Liber Census Daniae.

The village has 218 inhabitants (as of 2000). It is the main town in the rural community Maidla. The municipality is located in the former school house built in 1790 by Savala.

Savala lies on the River Purtse ( Purtse Jõgi ).
