Savoraim

As Saboraim (from Hebrew sabar = to think, reason; Aramaic Saworaë, " explainer " ) refers to the Jewish scholars in the succession of Amora, the forerunner of the Geonim. They looked after today largely matching view in the period from about 500-590 ( otherwise Ephrati, see below)

The Saboraim are not, has been suggested for how long, those who carried out (only ) stylistic fine work on the already completed literary Babylonian Talmud, but real editors who have helped to shape by special additions, especially in the opening sentences of the treatises and chapters the final version decisive.

Many questions but in the context of their circumstances and the specific proportion of their work at the large oeuvre of us traditional Talmud (and will probably remain forever) unsolved.

It is also discussed whether a ( smaller or larger ) part of the anonymous statements is saboräischen origin.
