Savoy (Band)

Savoy is a Norwegian- American band, founded by Pål Waaktaar - Savoy ( guitarist and songwriter of a- ha), his wife Lauren Savoy and drummer Frode Unneland and then still bassist Greg Calvert, who left the band in 1997 1994. The band celebrated especially in Norway successes, including the songs Velvet ( later also recorded by a-ha on the album Minor Earth, Major Sky ) and Star. A total of 200,000 albums sold to date, the band. The first album Mary Is Coming and the resulting single released Velvet received in Norway in 1996 each gold. Savoy was awarded the Norwegian Spellemannprisen in class pop group in 1999 for the album Mountains of Time and 2001 for the album Reasons to Stay Indoors.
