Sayako Kuroda

Sayako Kuroda (Japanese黒 田 清 子, Kuroda Sayako, born 18 April 1969) is the third child and only daughter of Emperor Akihito and Empress Michiko of Japan. On 15 November 2005 she married Yoshiki Kuroda, which she gave up her imperial title and as prescribed by law from the year 1947, had to leave the Japanese Imperial Family. Previously, she was named after the imperial tradition for male members with the title of Princess Nori (纪 宫, Nori -no- miya ) addressed specifically in the rule as Her Imperial Highness Princess Sayako (of Japan) (纪 宫 清 子 内 亲王 殿下, Sayako - naishinnō ).

Curriculum vitae

Princess Nori studied at the Department of Japanese Language and Literature in the Literature Faculty of Gakushuin University and completed this in 1992. During the same year she was accepted as a researcher at the Yamashina Institute for Ornithology.

On 30 December 2004, the Imperial Household Agency was announced, Princess Nori had become engaged to Yoshiki Kuroda, a 40 year old urban planner, who had previously worked for the Tokyo metropolitan government and is considered a close friend of Prince Akishino.
