SC Düdingen

The SC Duedingen is a football club in Switzerland from the community Duedingen in the Canton of Fribourg. Currently playing SC Duedingen in the first league, the third highest league in Switzerland.

History

Foundation and beginning

Under the name " football club Duedingen " founded in 1924 a group of young men to the football club. This group met in July 1924 in the hotel " train station ", Duedingen establishing Assembly. The first board of the club consisted of the

• President Romain de Meyer, his
• Vice President Jules Sapin and the
• Treasurer Louis Vuarnoz.

Since the newly formed club was initially not connected to the Swiss Football Association, this completed a series of friendly matches. Especially in the summer months - several of the players were students and location present to some extent even during this time - then every possibility was perceived to stage football. The first games were successful. In Gurmels the home team were beaten 2-1. Against St. Niklaus Freiburg looked out a 2-0 win and it was a scarce result of 1-0 FC Flamatt conquered. Two more successes against Freiburg II and turn Gurmels completed the season. Founded in 1924, the football club Duedingen could find a first pitch near the Brugerawaldes. From 1931 the Düdingen footballers played on a rented field at Hasliweg.

70s and first ascent

After repeated but promotion to the second division in 1974 played the first team of SCD during five years in the second division. In the 1978 season came with the SC Duedingen the first time a German club Freiburg to win the second league title. In the following ascent games for the 1st Division but failed the Düdingen. The following year, the rise of games were reached again and this time the team defeated their opponents and rose for the first time in the 1st Division on order but a year later to descend again.

Era Waeber and second ascent

Towards the end of the millennium took over the successful coach Jean -Claude Waeber the Düdingen team in the second league. After promotion to the 2nd Division interregional the SCD rose in 2005 for the second time in the first division. The following season they finished 1st Division with 31 points from 30 games on the 13th Place. Thus, the re- descent could be prevented and you got to play one more time in the 1st Division in the 2006/07 season. Until the winter break of the season 06/ 07 could rarely win and was at half the relegation zone. The longtime coach Waeber was replaced by former national player Adrian Kunz. The SC Duedingen was finally in the first league. 2009 had the SC Duedingen descend under coach Martin Weber, however, was the league at the green table secure ( relegation höherklassiger teams). For the new season 2009/10 we continued to native talent. This and the influx of experienced players Adrian Schneuwly Pascal and Jenny were the cornerstone of the most successful season the club history to date: 4th place in the Premier League with 47 points and a goal difference of 62:49 in 30 games.
