The Sporting Club de Lyon was a French ice hockey team from Lyon and first master of the Ligue Magnus.

History

Sporting Club de Lyon was in the 1906/ 07 season of the founding members of the Ligue Magnus, the highest French Hockey League. After the team was made ​​up of three teams to prevail in a group consisting against city rivals Lyon Hockey Club and Star Club Lyon, it met in the final of the Club of Patineurs de Paris, the sovereign with 8:2 in Lyon was defeated. In the following season, the two teams in the final of the Coupe Magnus stood over again. On neutral ground ( Chamonix ), this time, however, the Parisians could just push through 2-1. Following the 1907/ 08 season, the Palais de Glace de Lyon was closed, whereupon the Sporting Club disbanded. This also had an impact on the game mode in the Ligue Magnus, as well as the two city rivals Lyons could no longer participate in the championship and the venue was only back in the 1911/12 season.
