Scalenus medius

The Musculus scalenus medius (Latin for " middle fin retainers muscle ", from the Latin scalene " wrong ", " scalene ") is a skeletal muscle which runs from the cervical vertebrae to the first rib. He is scalene muscles in humans, the longest of the three Musculi. The Musculus scalenus medius pulls in unilateral contraction of the neck to one side, the muscles on both sides contract, the neck is pulled down.

Between musculus scalenus medius muscle and the anterior scalene ( " posterior scalene ") of the brachial plexus occur in humans and also the subclavian artery in the armpit.
