Foxes Duisburg (Oberliga NRW, since 1971 )

The Scania Arena (formerly ice rink Duisburg, own spelling SCANIA - Arena ) is an ice rink in Duisburg. It is part of the sports park in Duisburg Neudorf district. The Arena is the training and the home ground of foxes Duisburg, which until 2009 played in 2005 in the DEL, and various amateur teams.

History

The ice rink was built in 1971 in the immediate vicinity of the Wedaustadion and the regatta course in the south of Duisburg. She was originally identical to the ice rink in Iserlohn, the ice rink in Herne and the ice rink on the western railway station in Essen. However, these were, as well as the Scania arena itself, repeatedly rebuilt and modernized. In the arena there is a restaurant, which is located behind one of the gates.
