Schalk Verhoef

Schalk Verhoef (* August 5, 1935 in Rotterdam, The Netherlands, † January 18, 1997 ) was a Dutch cyclist.

Sports career

Verhoef first drove amateur road race and reached 1954 in Rotterdam Katendrecht and eight van Chaam his first victories in major events. In 1955 he won the Dutch amateur road championship. As a 22 - year-old he was third at the 1957 Road World Championships for Amateurs. In the same year he won the Tour of Zeeland.

Verhoef 1958 Driver was the Dutch team radium, where the German driver Klaus Bugdahl was under contract. In the same year joined the Belgian team Verhoef Dossche sport. His only significant victory this year, he scored the streets criterion in the Dutch Eede. In 1959, he joined the team again and then drove for the Dutch team Locomotief - Vredestein.
